The War over Kosovo -
Special Website Feature

Return to Acronym Institute main page

The Acronym Institute special website feature on the war over Kosovo has presented perspectives that are not normally covered in the mainstream press. This website feature has now been closed, but further information may be found through the links below.

Although the Institute does not normally cover civil wars and regional conflicts, NATO's involvement and disastrous strategies may have profound implications for the future of the United Nations system, international security, the restructuring of Europe and relations with Russia and China, and therefore for arms control and non-proliferation. This is the first war in which NATO has engaged as NATO, and it exposes some fundamental contradictions in its perceived role and capabilities.
