On 10 February, reports in Pakistan spoke of the successful testing by Pakistan of a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 900 miles (1,500 kilometres). According to the reports - developed at the Kahuta laboratories - the missile was tested on 18 January, with four further tests planned in February and March.

The reports quoted an unnamed Pakistan government official as referring to the missile as "a major accomplishment."
