President Bush requests $439.3 billion defense budget for FY07, February 6, 2006

President George W. Bush has sent to Congress his defense budget for fiscal 2007. The budget requests $439.3 billion in discretionary budget authority for the Department of Defense, a seven percent increase over enacted fiscal 2006 funding levels. The budget was accompanied by the Report of the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR).
