Full text of Iran's response to the E3's June 2006 proposal is available as a pdf file. In its response Iran appears to be willing to adhere to the Additional Protocol and at least discuss suspension of uranium enrichment, provided certain conditions are met, but rejects UN Security Council Resolution 1696, which demanded that Iran suspend all enrichment-related and reprocessing activities, and that this be verified by the IAEA with a deadline of August 31, 2006 to comply. Whilst much of Iran's response is unclear and may serve mainly to delay any further action against the country, it may also provide an opportunity for a resumption of diplomatic efforts to resolve the dispute.
