Strategic Defence Review, July 1998

On 8 July, 1998 the British Secretary of State for Defence announced the outcome of the Labour Government's Strategic Defence Review, launched on 28 May 1997. The Review, intended to examine Britain's defence needs to the year 2015, has been published as a White Paper with a separate appendix of essays covering the various issues.

• October 1998: House of Commons Debates Strategic Defence Review (SDR), by Nicola Butler in Disarmament Diplomacy No 31
• July 1998: Disarmament Diplomacy No 28, including substantial extracts from the SDR, plus brief articles from Michael Clarke, Robert Green, Eric Grove, Rebecca Johnson, Lorna Richardson and Paul Rogers
• July 1998: UK Statement to the CD, following the SDR
• July 1997: The Acronym Institute's submission to the Strategic Defence Review
