Strategic Defence Review, July 1998

On 8 July, 1998 the British Secretary of State for Defence announced the outcome of the Labour Government's Strategic Defence Review, launched on 28 May 1997. The Review, intended to examine Britain's defence needs to the year 2015, has been published as a White Paper with a separate appendix of essays covering the various issues.
