Special advisor to the Middle Powers Initiative, the Nobel Women’s Initiative, Peace Depot (Japan), Center for Policy Studies (PIR, Moscow) and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
Member of Women in Black and the women’s advisory group for the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA).
Vice President of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (UK) and co-founder of the Aldermaston Women’s Peace Camp(aign).
Formerly Board Member and Vice Chair of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (2000-2006) and Senior Advisor to the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission
(WMDC), chaired by Dr Hans Blix (2004-2006).
Dr Johnson is the author of numerous reports and articles on international security, the NPT, CTBT and UK nuclear and security policy. Her book on civil society and government strategies to achieve the CTBT, titled Unfinished Business, was published by the United Nations in May 2009.
