The Acronym Institute is immensely grateful to our readers and supporters
for your continued interest in our work. We apologise for the hiatus in
publishing Disarmament Diplomacy since issue 78. This was due to
two unfortunate reasons: a decision by the main British funder not to
provide further support for Acronym's unique style of multilateral work;
and an annus horribilis for illness and injuries, including a bad fall
resulting in a broken coccyx. We will continue to work on disarmament
and the promotion of international security, including space security,
with our best energy and resources, while also rethinking strategies in
response to the changing political and financial environments. The reduced
funding for Disarmament Diplomacy may affect our publication regularity
unless and until sufficient sources of funding can be obtained. We would
like to take this opportunity to thank Malcolm Savidge MP for his excellent
contribution as Convener of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group for Global
Security and Nonproliferation. Malcolm's hard work and commitment have
made a real difference, and his absence from the new parliament will be
keenly felt.
Disarmament Diplomacy publishes reports and articles to
stimulate debate on topical disarmament and arms control issues.
The accuracy of information and views expressed are the sole
responsibility of the author(s). No article or news analysis in
Disarmament Diplomacy or on the Acronym website should be
construed as representing the Acronym Institute for Disarmament
Diplomacy or its Board or Funders.
